Counselling & Psychotherapy in Crystal Palace and South East London
A very warm welcome to my website.
Are you looking to gain some clarity in a particular area of your life? Perhaps something needs to change? Are you looking for a place to take some time-out and explore your thoughts and feelings?
At Taking Time To Talk, I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental place for you to do this.
My name is Clare. I am a qualified Counsellor, and a Registered Member of BACP (Registered MBACP) I provide individual based counselling in Crystal Palace/Upper Norwood in South East London. I am within easy reach of Central London, Penge, Anerley, Gipsy Hill, West Norwood, Streatham, Balham, Sydenham, Dulwich, Clapham, Bromley, Beckenham, and Croydon.
How Does Counselling Work?
I facilitate a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment for you to explore whatever has prompted you to seek counselling.
It is a place for you to talk about what you are feeling and thinking. You could come to counselling to gain clarity in certain areas of your life; understand yourself better; recognise patterns of behaviour; develop tools to cope; take steps forward towards positive change.
Counselling is very dependent on you being open and honest and engaging with the process. It is collaborative. I am not here to advise you or tell you what to do. You must be prepared to discuss and explore what you are feeling and thinking. See me as your sounding board. We will work together to untangle what is going on for you, and perhaps look at different ways of seeing things in order for you to make your own decisions and move forward.
What happens when you make your initial enquiry?
I understand that for some, considering counselling and then finding a counsellor/therapist can feel daunting. Its important you feel safe and that the counsellor/therapist is right for you.
Following your initial enquiry, we would arrange a 10 min chat over the phone. This is for me to hear a little about why you are seeking counselling, and to discuss your expectations of counselling very briefly. Following that, we'll arrange a 30 minute face to face assessment. This enables us to meet to see how it feels talking together and to elaborate on what we have discussed over the phone. I'll also explain how I work as a counsellor, and what service is on offer. Then we'll agree on how to proceed. Its a chance for us both to see if this could be the right place for you. The assessment is a no obligation appointment on both sides, for which I charge £20.
All subsequent sessions will be 50 minutes long. and my fee per session is £40.
I have successfully helped clients seeking counselling around:
I offer both open ended and fixed term counselling.
Open ended means we can work together for as long as you feel you need counselling, or until we mutually decide we have gone as far as we can go.
Fixed term means we can agree a fixed amount of sessions at the start.
The aim of both is to give you the space you need, and the time to talk.
